| Customer Reviews: Causes foot pronation July 7, 2010 R Smith 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was so excited to get these. They're absolutely gorgeous. For years I had worn MBTs sport and while I loved them, I hated the color (I know, I'm a girl, what can I say).
The Skechers are beautiful - I got mine in black and white. As I wore mine, I did notice that my feet tended to pronate (Pronation describes a slight inward rolling motion the foot makes during a normal walking or running stride). This I did not like. At first I thought I walk this way, but looking at the bottom of all my shoes, they're worn on the outside of my heel, not inside. After a few more tries with the Skechers, I realized it's the shoe. As I step, it makes me roll my feet.
I looked at others wearing the Shape Ups and they too step inward. All these people can't possibly walk badly, so I came to the conclusion that it's the shoe that's causing the pronation. Too bad!!!
I went back to my MBTs and I walk perfectly straight in them. I'm sorry to say these did not work out for me. I will be selling them.
Deff. worth the price March 29, 2010 Tyranni Sliger (Lancaster, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My bf and I first tried this style of shoe at a local KMart. The shoe there was really curved and the sole was so-so. It still for some reason made me curious to try some other brands esp. knowing that usually these shoes sell for a whole more then the $19.99 price tags that were on these. The next day I went to Khols and actauly surprised to see them there. Tried them on and instantly fell in love with them. They still had the rocking motion of coarse but unlike the ones at KMart I did not feel like I was going to fall over. Plus, they were so much more cushiony. I work in a clothing retail store on my feet on a super hard marble floor for 8-10 hours a day so when I get out I need something comfortable. These deffinatly did the trick. I then proceeded to just see what other brands had to offer after trying Avia, 2 other brands I cant remember and even Dr. Scholls, I came right back to these. Now, I cant wait till the Mary Janes actaully come out in stores so I can try those and not kill my feet at work. Over all, there was deff. worth the $80 price differance. None of the other brands even came close.
