Sizes can range from normal width to triple E, depending on the boot manufacturer and what width the boots normally come in. It is unknown whether a taste test was held in certain cities, or if financial compensation going either way is present, but MacDonalds has Given Mr. Pibb the boot in favor of Dr. Pepper. This causes the soft drink to grab a much bigger market share, because Mr. Pibb is owned by Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper is owned by the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. Most customers polled about this change did not seem to have a preference either way, so there is apparently no consumer brand loyalty where either of these soft drinks are concerned. How many MacDonalds customers will choose either?

A mother from Carterto in the UK has shown extreme courage in the face of danger. Real estate agent Kelly McIsaac, the mother of two sons, went to meet what she thought was a home buyer to sell him a home. After arriving in the desolated area, she was attacked and the man attempted to force her into the boot of her car. As she was being forced into th eboot, she thought of her young sons and decided to fight, grabbing the screwdriver and stabbing her attacker in the head. After several minutes of furious fighting, her attacker grabbed her purse, ran to his car, and drove off. She kept repeating the tag number in her head, and police have caught the man responsible.

The Supreme Court of the state of Utah made a decision Friday declaring a state law concerning workers compensation unconstitutional, and they booted the limits set. At issue is a state law which limits the amount of compensation that a person who is over sixty five years old can receive if they also get Social Security retirement benefits. The court found that this law discriminates unfairly against the elderly who are entitled to their retirement benefits but have also been injured. The law is called an offset statute, and applies after six years of compensation benefits. It allows the amount of workers compensation to be cut by fifty percent of the retirement benefit amount.

The Abbeville Fire Department is joining the charity boot drive, and this time the charity being benefited is the Red Cross in the area. Many fire departments have recently held boot drives, where firefighters walk along the streets and parking lots of the individual city asking motorists for donations by holding out a firefighter boot. Motorists drop any change and bills they want to donate into the boot as they drive. There are usually fire trucks and safety personnel as well in the area. the idea started when a tornado came through the area, and the Red Cross helped out with meals and shelters.

Many colleges have rules and regulations concerning parking, and most students who park on campus must have a permit or will receive a parking ticket. At some colleges, after two tickets the third time the car is given the boot, a device whiich looks like something the Bush Administration would use in harsh interrogation techniques, or basically torture, depending on who you talk to. many students are surprised when their car has a boot, and may not know how to resolve the situation. Any college student who parks on campus should make sure that they have the right permit to do so.

In a very sad ruling, the UK has decided that a Russian circus clwn must perform in normal shoes, instead of his oversized size 18 floppy clown boot. Russian clown Valerik Kashkin, who is touring the UK with his circus, became the center of controversy after he was performing his balancing act on a wire three meters off the ground. The clown slipped and lost his footing, beaking a bone in his foot. Since the incident the health and safety inspector has determined that the floppy boots must go. This has left the clown in a quandry, because he says his act will not be the same without the floppy boots on.

In Aurora, two women called 911 from a cell phone and reported that they were accosted by a man who was completely nude, except for a pair of work boots. According to the women, they were walking home about ten at night on Sullivan Avenue when a man called to them from across the street. When the women turned the man was standing there wearing just a pair of work boots and the skin god gave him. The women ran, and apparently the man fled in the opposite direction before police could arrive. He is described as being a white male with short brown hair, between 160 and 180 in weight and around six feet tall give or take a few inches.
