Heritage Boot, a terrific boot shop in Austin, Texas, that is owned and operated by owner and Austin based boot designer Jerry Ryan. When interviewed recently in his garden, Jerry was asked what his favoite pastime was. The reporter was expecting the boot designer to discuss designing or creating boots, but instead was surprised at the answer: gardening. Jerry Ryan enjoys creating and maintaining his beautiful flower and herb gardens. He grew up in Scotland and England surrounded by roses and numrous other flower varieties. He describes his weeding as meditation, because he says everything just disappears and he recharges.

Boots can be decorated in a wide variety of ways. There is fringe that can be attached, to flow around the boot and give it a great style. Designs can be stitched into the leather or fabric, to create different scenes and patterns on the boot. Rhinestones, sequins, and at times real gems can be used to add sparkle, depending on your budget. You can add laces, ties, buckles, straps, and pretty much anything you can think of to decorate your boots and give them a unique and fantastic look. Sure you could buy your boots already decorated, but sometimes that is half of the fun.

Designer boots are a great way to own unique and one of a kind boots if you can afford this luxury. Designer boots will cost substantially more if they are crafted by a quality designer. This is because these boots are much more demanding when it comes to the design and creation process. They are not mass manufactured, so each boot requires the same amount of design time. This means hours spent designing and creating the boots, so there is a larger charge. If you want a unique pair of boots that are different and original, designer boots may be the way for you to go.

In Indiana, combat boots have a different meaning. A campaign called Eyes Wide Open, a monument to all of the soldiers who have died from Indiana, uses one hundred and forty nine pairs of combat boots to represent the fallen soldiers from this state. Every pair of boots represents a soldier, complete with personal information, such as the name, rank, age at death, and home town. Each of these soldiers sacrificed their lives in the Iraq War, a war that many in this state feel should never have been started and was based on lies from the very beginning. This is a common complaint and source of anger for may residents of these states.

We have all seen them. Boots in garishly bright vivid colors, like electric blue, mad magenta, electric yellow, and others. They are definitely going to get attention, and may be unique, but is this the kind of attention you really want? These boots can be a fashion nighmare when it comes to matchig your outfit, so that they may be hard to wear normally without looking out of place and unusual. The last thing you want is to look like a fashion don’t picture. Unless chosen specifically to match an outfit, choose neutral and softer tones for boots, so that they will match many outfits,

Making boots is not so much a job as it is a passion for some craftsman, and they take a lot of pride in their final prducts. Having your boots custom made by a talented boot maker means being involved with every aspect and decision involved in this process. You can choose the type of leather, heel, design, and other factors. Be careful not to maketoo many demands, so the artistry and craftsmanship of the artisan making the boot can come through. Custom made boots may take longer to receive, because they are not available on the rack, but the superior qualiy and comfort make them well worth the exta cost.

The day before Pesident Barack Obama was sworn into office, protesters against the Bush Cheny administration are still following the lead of the Iraqi journalist and using their boots to make a point. The protesters started at Dupont Circle and marched fifteen blocks to the White House gates, where then President Bush was in residence. Demonstrators carried signs stating arrest Bush, and many former military and government employees spoke out against the numerous American and International laws broken by the Bush administration, and these include the war in Iraq and the torture of innocent people. Many Americans are calling for some type of criminal proceeding, to show the world our leaders are not allowed to commit war crimes or crimes against humanity either.

On Tuesday, President Barack Obama was sworn in as the fourty fourth president of the United States. Millions of people were lining the streets to see this historical moment in time, and they were wearing winter boots while they did so. Temperatures in Washington D.C. were cold, some would even say frigid, but that did not stop all his supporters and those who voted for him from standing out in it and shivering. President Obama has supporters of every race, religion, and color, and may be the most popular president across all these lines to ever take office and govern.

Colin Farrell, one of the most familiar and well known faces anywhere in the world, actor and golden globe award winner who has been in an extremely large number of movies, and who calls most of the Hollywood royalty friends, had to undergo the dignity of removing his boots. At LAX airport in Los Angeles, Farrell was trying to get through security to get to his plane when he was stopped and asked to step aside for further searching. He was forced to remove his boots and have his body wanded before he was allowed through. Apparently he looked like a dangerous threat, with his old run down boots.
