Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is a show that may seem unusual to many at first. ballet seems to be the theme, but the dancers are all wearing boots. This show gives ballet performances a unique and unusual kick. Traditional ballet dances are performed but the dancers take advantage of the benefits that boots can offer when it comes to these moves. The boots being worn are not dainty heeled boots either, but rather work and combat boots with all of the features. Even the ballerina and male dancer costumes are traditional ballet costumes, it is just that they are paired together with boots for a unique look and performance of the classics in ballet

Hospice patient Douglas Boots, a man who moved into the Shenandoah House assisted living facility to die, has booted death and will soon be living on his own. At home in Key West Florida, Douglas passed out one day and woke up in th ehospital to find out that three weeks had passed. He was told his kidneys had failed and that he was dying. He finally moved into the assisted care facility to do his dying, but a miracle happened. The staff at the facility started to feed him good nutritious food, and everyone took great care of him. Soon the medications started working and he was gaining weight instead of losing it. Now doctors say he must go, to his own home that is, because he no longer needs assistance.

A new blog, written by a man named Don Boots Jensen, proclaims that President Obama has given the okay to torture American ciizens but th esite itself gives no evidence or even further details. There is a notation that states more news will be released shortly. Who is Boots Jensen? According to his blog he is a former police officer and military man who is concerned about the direction that our country and leadership is going. There are no comments yet posted on his blog, but it seems like it is just a matter of time before his fans start commenting.

The Commonwealth Challenge program at Camp Pendleton gives youth a second chance at life. In this program, which is set up and run military style, troubled youth are given a chance to don boots and uniforms, and to turn their lives around. The program is so successful that cadets from ten and fifteen years ago come back to work here, because they understand what a difference the program can make in th eoutlook of trouble youth. Kids from all over California, and even farther at times, come to Camp Pendleton to turn thei rlives around. There should be more programs like this out there.

Mel Gibson, famous actor and well known star, is going through a tough divorce case, and it may just get tougher. The movie actor has given the boot to the first judge assigned to the case, the Honorable Rafael Ongkeko, and his lawyers have filed paperwork to this effect. Each party may veto one judge within ten days of the docket assignment, but so far Gibson is the only one to use this option. Seems like judge shopping to me, and I always thought all that mattered was that the judge was fair and impartial. Of course celebrities have always had different standards.

The University of Rochester has shown that car boots can be a very effective tool at enforcing the parking laws and regulations. For a time the University was not putting a boot on cars which were parked illegally or whose owners owed large fines, but that has changed. When parking enforcement stopped, students at the University started parking everywhere, with no regard for the regulations. Since enforcement has been stepped up and car boots have been placed on vehicles, students have stopped parking illegally and have been paying fines. The income is a relief in this economy, and the laws are being followed once again at this school.

Everyone over the age of thirty can probably remember seeing a boot and shoe shine stand at some point in their life, but this art and tradition is becoming more rare each year. There are very few of these stands left, although the ones that are still in operation are generally run by older gentlemen who have been in this industry for decades. The fact that these stands are becoming extinct is a shape, and is due in a large part to the rush and bustle of the modern world. It is uncmmon anymore for anyone to sit down and relax just to enjoy a shoe shine.

The military has recently contracted with the company Bates footwear to provide temperate weather combat boots. These boots are needed by the military personnel in areas like Iraq and Afghanistan, where the weather may be extremely hot and humid, as well as many other countries around the world. The boots can help prevent injuries, diseases, blisters, and are much more comfortable than the older combat boots. This is important for members of the military who can stand on their feet for most of the day, and trek long miles over the rugged terrain. There is a big demand for better boots and equipment, and these orders will help meet this demand.

In Greensboro, NC, the robber wore boots, but at least he knocked first. Robbery victim Chavez Guillermo told the Greensboro police that responded to his 911 call that there was a knock on his door. When he answered it, there were two men dressed in black sweatshirt that had the word POLICE across the front. The men were also wearing black boots and pants, and stated that they were police looking for someone. Once inside, one of the men asked for the wallets of those inside to check ID and then went into the bathroom. Returning, the man gave back the wallets and then the two left. Afterwards it was discovered that all the money in the wallets was taken.

In California, there is an exhibit filled with combat boots that can have a sobering impact on those who see it. This exhibit is called Eyes Wide Open: The Human Cost Of War, and it is being displayed at CSU-Monterey Bay. This display memorializes the four hundred and fifty three Americans from California that have died in the Iraq War.  Also included were one hundred and seventy five pairs of shoes from civilians to signify the number of innocent Iraqis who have died, most of them children. Seeing the sheer immensity of the shoe and combat boot display can really bring home the number of people claimed by this war.
