This happened because Boyd has a boot mishap in the game before this one, against Torquay. His favorite pair of playing boots split on him, and could not be worn anymore. He brought anther pair to Friday’s game, but during the warmup the boots caused his feet to hurt. That is when he borroewed a teammates boots, namely Nat Kerrs. Boyd was laughing, and stated that the borrowed boots were so big he had to wear three pairs of socks to get them to fit right.

Stefano Pessina, the billionaire from Italy who runs Alliance Boots, wants to split up his dual positions, which are both chairman and chief executive. He is looking to keep his position as Executive Chairman and focus on the strategy, growth and development of the company. He is trying to find the right senior director, one who is capable of taking care of the daily operations of the company so he can focus on the other areas instead. Pessina made it very clear that he is not slowing down or scaling back his involvement, rather directing it in a new area.
